Default Remote Settings

 

Guide:

  • Select – Plays Channel (Record on a future show)
  • Outer Ring
    a. Up – Moves channel selection up (hold for scroll) if on channel 1 goes to last channel.
    b. Down – Moves channel selection down (hold for scroll) if on last channel goes to first.
    c. Left – Goes backward in time (w/ Catch up ONLY) or to current time if it was advanced.
    d. Right – Advances time.
  • Back Button – Shows Groups (Right outer ring to full guide without group selection)
  • RW/FF – Page Up/Down in the guide.

 

Live TV (Watching a channel):

  • Select – Previous 10 channels (up to pause or record current show “far right dot”, down for options)
  • Outer Ring
    a. Up – Goes up one to next channel (Channel #1 to Channel #2)
    b. Down – Goes down one to previous channel (Cannel #2 to Channel #1)
    c. Left – Shows side guide (No preview) (Use back button or select to stay on channel)
    d. Right – Goes to previous channel.
  • Back Button – Goes to guide
  • RW/FF – Info box up/down one channel (select to change)
  • Menu – Options Menu

 

Settings (Main Settings Menu – Gear)

General:

  • Auto start on wake up from sleep – Opens TiviMate when device wakes.
  • Turn on last channel on app start – Goes straight to live stream.
  • Confirm exit by second press back – Won’t exit w/ 1 back button push w/ groups showing.
  • Backup data – Choose (and remember) which folder (allow permissions)
  • Restore data
    a. Enter URL (Can be used when multiple devices in home but requires extra steps)
    b. Paste from clipboard – Needs air mouse (a way to copy from link)
    c. Select local backup – From wherever you stored in Step 5.

 

Playlists: Clicking on one “Already Created”

  • Show Playlist – On or Off
  • Update playlist on app start – On = Auto Update
  • Playlist Name – Click to edit name (follow onscreen directions)
  • Playlist URL – Click to edit (follow onscreen directions)
  • Main TV Guide Source – Click to edit (Follow onscreen directions)
  • Additional Guide Source – (If you have one)
  • Logos Priority – Leave as (Prefer logos from playlist)
  • Catch Up – Based on your provider
  • Manage Groups
    a. Groups sorting – By Name (Alphabetical), By order in playlist (provider sorted),      Manual (You decide)
    b. Reorder groups – Only used with Manual (Sort however you like)
    c. Show all groups – Self explanatory
    d. Hide all groups – Self explanatory
    ****List of group names – Turn on/off to view/hide groups
  • Update playlist – Use this mainly for sporting events and PPV (Service directed)
  • Delete playlist – If you no longer have that service or just want to start over.

Add playlist If you have more than one service.

Playlist sorting – By name (alphabetical), Manual (You decide)
Reorder playlists – Only used if Manual is selected above

TV guide:

  • TV guide Sources – Allows Editing (Add, Change URL, Delete, etc.)
  • Past days to keep – More days = longer load time – Mainly for catch up
  • Update Interval – How many hours before update if TiviMate is always on.
  • Update on app start – On/Off (Best to have on)
  • Update on playlist change – On/Off (Best to have on if more than one provider)
  • Update TV guide – Basically a refresh of the guide (Manual Update)
  • Clear TV guide – Basically a “Clear Cache” of TV guide only.
  • Latest update status – This should read “Successfully Update” if not, the status will indicate which guide is having a problem.

Appearance:

  • Logos – Best to leave this as default.
  • Groups:
    a. Sorting – Leave as “By order in playlist” if you edited in Playlist Settings.
  1. Show all playlists category – Must be on if using “Show favorites category”
    c. Show favorites category – Will show favorites you have saved from each playlist.
    d. Show “All Channels” category – will show every channel from every playlist.
    e. Highlight current group in color – Refers to current group selected under current playlist

TVguide:
a. Preview – (This affects both the full guide and side guide)
  1. On – Gives preview window
  2. Animated transition (If on)
  3. Autoplay Channels – If on plays channel highlighted without selecting.
  4. Stay on TV Guide – If on requires second click to bring channel full screen.
b. Channels Sorting –
  1. By order in playlist – Settings that were done in “Playlists/Sorting/…(Best to use this)
  2. By Name – Alphabetical
  3. By Watch Time – Will put “Most Watched” channels up top.
c. Channel Name Editor – Used to remove prefix (U.S., U.K., etc.) Suffix (FHD, HD, etc.)
d. Preview – If on it plays channel selected in upper left (full guide) upper right (side guide)
e. Show channel numbers – On/Off
f. Show catch-up icon in channel list – If any of your providers offer it turn this on.
g. Highlight current channel in color – Changes highlighted channel name/# color to blue.
h. Enlarge logos – Makes the channel logo of highlighted channel larger.
i. Show current time indicator at full hight – Blue vertical line showing time left in shows.
j. Highlight progress only – Different option for showing same as “i”
k. Two line program tiles – Refers to show description when channel is highlighted.
l. Animated channels scrolling – Not sure what this does.
m. Stay on TV guide when switching channels – If turned on, the guide overlays the current
    channel playing & requires a 2nd select to change channel then exit guide.

  •  Use back to quickly return to current programs – Turn on if you have catch up.
  • Player: 
  1. Channel List – This refers to the side guide.
      1. Show programs – Shows previous, current, future shows for channel highlighted.
      2. Show program description – Provides info box in upper right for channel highlighted.
        3. Stay on list when switching channel – Select channel twice (or back) for full screen.
        4. Animated transitions – Unknown
        5. Auto play channels – Only works if “Preview” is turned on.
    b. Info Panel – (Show description, FPS, Video quality, etc) box when changing channels.
        1. Card Style – Shows info in a light gray box (If off, info shows at bottom of screen)
        2. Show info panel at the bottom – If off info is at top when “Card Style” is on.
        3. Show clock – Puts current time in info panel.
        4. Show playlist group and name – Useful if switching channels in favorites group.
        5. Show program description – Refers to info panel “NOT GUIDE”
        6. Show media properties – FPS, Stereo Sound, UHD, etc.
        7. Show video resolution – Explanation provided
    c. Recent Channels –
        1. Recent channel count (choose how many to display)
        2. Delay before adding to recent channels, seconds (refers to how long channel must        
            play)
    d. Menu – Turn on/off options that will appear when using menu button during live channel.
    e. Clock – Puts a clock on live TV (allows for placement, size, transparency, etc.)
    f. Panel timeout seconds – Refers to how long “Info Panel” stays on screen.
    g. Skip step for time bar – Refers to catch up
    h. Skip step for RW/FF – Refers to catch up.
    i. Show black screen when switching channels – Very brief black screen.
  • Language – Refers to app text “NOT” broadcast language of channel(s).
  • Font size – Refers to text in entire app (guides, CC, etc.)
  • User interface transparency % – Higher number = More background visibility.

Playback:

  • Buffer size – To adjust slower connection (device or provider)
  • Audio decoder – used if no sound on all channels.
  • Video decoder – used if no video on all channels.
  • AFR – Used if TV does not have Auto Frame Rate (mainly used for sports)
  • Audio Pass Through – Turn on if using stereo receiver.
  • Use external player – If turned on here it will apply to “ALL” channels and preview will not work.

Remote Control: Mapping of buttons on remote.
